About the session
It is predicted that by 2030 the growth in global population and the impacts of climate change will increase food production needs by 50%, energy demand by 45% and water demand by 30%. As part of the global food supply chain, the UK will be affected by climate change, and consequently making food security very important. This presentation covers the main drivers for energy and emissions reduction in the food sector and the work of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) National Centre for Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains.
